DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER THE APPLE DESSERT CONTEST HAS BEEN MOVED TO OCTOBER 11TH.  THE MARKET WILL STILL BE OPEN ON SUNDAY, OCTOBER 4TH! ALL OTHER MARKET PROGRAMMING SCHEDULED FOR OCTOBER 4TH IS ALSO CANCELED AND WILL BE RESCHEDULED! CHECK BACK SOON

It’s fall, it’s apple season, and we’re in the mood for another dessert contest at the Riverview Farmers Market!

This one will be a little different from last month’s Perfect Peach Pie Contest. Here’s how:

– The competition is open to everyone (amateurs and professionals).
– Any dessert is welcome (cakes, pies, muffins, etc.) as long as it uses New Jersey apples.
– The public will judge! Anyone who wants to taste and vote just needs to come to the RFM Information Table to obtain a voting wristband and tickets to use for voting ($5 suggested donation). (All funds collected will benefit future Market events.)

– Every participating taster will vote for his/her favorite desserts by “ballot.”

If you’d like to compete, you should bring enough of your dessert to make 50-75 small samples and you should bring a label or sign noting the name of your dessert in large type (to be placed next to your dessert). The Market will provide cups/utensils for attendees to use for sampling.
